What is known about the system of replacing deputy mandates

In Ukraine, the replacement of parliamentary seats by party lists is a standard practice designed to ensure the legitimacy and continuity of the parliament. In case of death or resignation of an MP, the next in line candidate from the same political force takes his or her place. This mechanism ensures that the proportional representation of political parties elected by the population is maintained.

This case also highlights a difficult period for Ukrainian politics, when the war and its aftermath affect personnel decisions and the structure of power.
