Despite the trade war with China launched by the White House administration, US President Donald Trump plans to pay an official visit to the country early next year. Trump told CBS News, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Trump said that he still intends to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit to be held in South Korea later this month.

He also reminded that the increased duties on China will come into effect on November 1 if Washington and Beijing do not reach an agreement by then.

At the same time, the American president expressed confidence in the possibility of successful negotiations, noting that China shows extraordinary “respect” and pays the United States “enormous amounts” in tariffs.

on October 9, the Chinese government announced tighter export controls on rare earth metals. Now, even small amounts of these metals require an export license if they account for at least 0.1% of the value of the goods. This also includes the export of technologies related to the extraction, smelting, and separation of rare earth metals.

In the spring, Trump repeatedly raised duties on Chinese goods, reaching a peak of 145%. Beijing responded by raising its own duties on American exports to 125%. However, negotiations between officials of the two countries led to a reduction in duties and improved relations between Washington and Beijing.
