Trump announces visit of European leaders to the US to discuss peace in Ukraine

Leaders of a number of European countries will visit the United States at the beginning of the week to discuss a peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine. This was stated by US President Donald Trump in a conversation with journalists, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The American leader clarified that the meetings will be held on Monday and Tuesday, with each of the European leaders arriving separately.

“Some European leaders will come to our country on Monday or Tuesday, each separately. And I think we’re going to resolve this issue,” Trump said.

on August 18, the White House hosted a meeting between American leader Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and European politicians. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister George Meloni, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Finnish leader Alexander Stubb arrived in Washington.
