Trump wants to deploy US private armies in Ukraine – The Telegraph

US President Donald Trump is in talks with European allies about the possible involvement of American private military companies (PMCs) in operations in Ukraine. They are supposed to build fortifications, bases, and protect American interests in the country.
This was written by the authors of the influential newspaper The Telegraph, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
This approach is seen as a compromise after Trump’s statement that regular US troops will not be deployed in Ukraine. A source in the British government says that PMCs will actually become an “American boot” in Ukraine, which in itself is a deterrent to Putin.
The presence of PMCs is supposed to send a signal to the Kremlin that any attack on them could result in a US response. European officials believe that this could increase the deterrent effect and simultaneously reduce domestic opposition in the United States to “foreign interference.”
The plan is being discussed as part of broader talks on security guarantees for Ukraine, with the UK and France taking the lead. Among the options:
– creation of a buffer zone between Ukraine and Russia,
– deployment of up to 30,000 European troops,
– patrolling the airspace to open Ukrainian airports,
– formation of a Black Sea task force led by Turkey to protect shipping.
“The main goal is to demonstrate to Ukrainians that we will fight with you if Russia invades again,” explained one Western official.
