“Trump wants an end to hostilities. We do too”: Putin talks about meeting in Alaska

Russia would like to see the fighting in Ukraine end as soon as possible.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Russian media.
This was stated by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin at a meeting in the Catherine Hall of the first building of the Kremlin after talks with US President Donald Trump, which took place in Alaska on August 15.
“We, of course, respect the position of the US administration, which sees the need for an early cessation of hostilities. But we would also like this. And we would like to move on to resolving all issues by peaceful means,” the Russian dictator said.
Putin emphasized that during the talks in Alaska, a possible solution to the Ukrainian war was discussed “on a fair basis.” According to him, there was an opportunity to “calmly and in detail once again state Moscow’s position.” The Russian side also spoke with their American counterparts “about the genesis and causes of this war.”
“It is the elimination of these causes that should form the basis of a settlement,” the Kremlin leader said.
Putin added that the visit to Alaska was timely and very useful. The dialog with the American side “was very frank and meaningful,” bringing “us closer to the necessary decisions,” Putin added.
After the summit, Trump wrote on Truth Social that his meeting with Putin in Alaska went “very well,” as did his subsequent conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, European leaders, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
