Trump orders troops to protect Portland

American President Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social page that he had instructed “Secretary of War” Pete Hegseth to provide troops to protect “war-torn” Portland and ICE facilities from Antifa and “other domestic terrorists,” "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“I am also authorizing the use of full force if necessary,” the president said.

This week, Trump signed a decree recognizing Antifa as a terrorist organization in the United States. The document emphasizes that this decision is due to the “model of political violence” allegedly used by the movement to suppress political activity and undermine law and order.

“Antifa is not a legal entity or formal organization. The term is used to refer to people who hold anarchist beliefs. Previously, FBI Director Kesh Patel reported on counterterrorism investigations into “nihilists.”
