Trump calls Ukraine’s permission to fire long-range missiles at Russia “fake”

US President Donald Trump has called the publication of an article in The Wall Street Journal about Washington’s alleged permission for Ukraine to fire long-range missiles at Russia“fake news.”
He wrote about this on Wednesday on his own social network Truth Social, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“The article in The Wall Street Journal that the United States has approved a permit for Ukraine to use long-range missiles deep into Russia is fake news!” – the White House chief said.
According to him, “the United States has nothing to do with these missiles, wherever they come from, or what Ukraine does with them.”
As reported, on Wednesday, The Wall Street Journal published an article with the headline: “U.S. lifts key restriction on Ukraine’s use of Western long-range missiles”. The article cited administration sources as saying that the United States had allegedly lifted restrictions on the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ ability to hit Russia with long-range missiles provided by Western allies.
The media claimed that the authorization was granted even before Trump met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House last week, and the first approved strike was carried out using Storm Shadow missiles on Tuesday, when the Defense Forces hit the Bryansk chemical plant.
Ukraine has already used the UK-provided Storm Shadow cruise missile: on Tuesday, it struck a Russian plant in Bryansk that produced explosives and rocket fuel. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on social media, calling the attack a “successful defeat” that broke through the Russian air defense system.
The Storm Shadow is a long-range cruise missile with stealth capabilities, jointly developed by the United Kingdom and France, which is usually launched from the air. With a range of more than 250 kilometers, it is slightly less than the range of the US Army’s surface-to-surface tactical missile systems, or Atacms.
