Trump praises peace talks between Ukraine and Russia: video

The US President assured that discussions on ending Russia’s war against Ukraine are progressing and once again emphasized his success in establishing peace between different countries.
Donald Trump said this during a speech at the White House, answering questions from journalists, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The American president noted that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are ongoing. He assesses them as “normal”. He noted that last month the losses of Russians and Ukrainians amounted to about 27 thousand people and emphasized that the United States wants to stop the killings.
According to Trump, the dialog between the parties is going relatively well, but the situation remains unresolved. He noted that he had previously reached a settlement in eight conflicts and hoped to resolve the situation with Russia and Ukraine.
“So, the negotiations on Ukraine and Russia are ongoing… And I hope that we will be able to bring it to an end. We are talking. The negotiations are going well,” he said, without answering whether there would be a trilateral meeting.
He also touched on the difficult relationship between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, emphasizing the deep enmity between them. According to Trump, this is a major obstacle to a truce.
When asked about possible deadlines for ending the conflict, including the Christmas deadline mentioned earlier, Trump was evasive. He expressed his desire for an early end to the war, adding that the Biden administration had allegedly allocated $350 billion to support Ukraine.
Trump also emphasized the successes in increasing NATO’s financial contributions and deliveries of modern military equipment. He noted that all stakeholders are exhausted by the length of the conflict and the war must end.
