US President Donald Trump said that billionaire Elon Musk was offended by his policy on electric vehicles.
The American leader said this in an interview with Fox News. It was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to Trump, the reason for the misunderstanding was that the American president does not support the desire of the Tesla CEO to have “everyone drive electric cars.”
At the same time, the White House chief called Musk a “great guy.”
“I know that he will always succeed. He’s a smart guy. He even campaigned with me… But then he got a little upset, and it was inappropriate,” Donald Trump said, describing his recent conflict with the billionaire, who was one of the largest financial backers of his election campaign.
The conflict began when Elon Musk publicly criticized Trump’s tax and budget law, calling it a “disgusting abomination” that would “increase the deficit to $2.5 trillion.” In response, the US president called the businessman “crazy.”
