Trump compares Putin’s war against Ukraine to “a fight between two small children”

US President Donald Trump has compared Russia’s war against Ukraine to “two small children fighting like crazy in a park.” Trump said this in the Oval Office during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“Sometimes you can see two little kids fighting like crazy. They hate each other, they fight in the park, and you try to separate them. They don’t want to be separated, sometimes it’s better to let them fight a little bit,” Trump said.

He also compared the war between Ukraine and Russia to fights in hockey, when the referee is somewhat lenient about conflicts in the game and gives a few seconds for a fight.

Trump admitted that he had made this analogy to Putin during their conversation yesterday.

“And I gave this analogy to Putin yesterday, I said, ‘President, you may have to keep fighting and suffer a lot because both sides are suffering,'” the American president said.

He also said that there is a “great enmity between these two men,” referring to President Zelensky and Putin.
