Trump refuses to meet with Zelenskyy and European leaders

US President Donald Trump will not meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the presence of European leaders, Das Bild writes, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to the newspaper’s sources, the head of the White House will first hold one-on-one talks with the Ukrainian president, and then they will be joined by representatives of the EU and NATO. They are to take part in a joint working dinner and discuss the settlement of the conflict in an expanded format.
According to the article, the Ukrainian leader will be accompanied by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and NATO Secretary General.
Earlier, Reuters reported that Trump was putting pressure on Ukraine after meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Alaska. The US leader is allegedly pushing Kyiv to conclude a peace deal. During his visit to Washington on August 18, Zelenskyy will be accompanied by European politicians to support him amid pressure from Trump to end the war quickly.
