US President Donald Trump said that he had found a buyer for the US division of the Chinese social network TikTok. It is a group of “very rich people,” he said in an interview with Fox News on Sunday, June 29. The American leader did not name the names of these people, but promised to reveal them “in about two weeks.”

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to Trump, the deal will likely require the approval of Chinese President Xi Jinping. “I think President Xi will probably give it,” the US president said.

The US demands separation of TikTok from the Chinese concern

The US authorities are demanding that the Chinese concern ByteDance, which owns TikTok, sell its American division over fears that Beijing may gain access to personal data of American users of the social network. The relevant law was signed by Trump’s predecessor, Democrat Joe Biden.

The deadline for the sale of the social network’s American division was set for January 19, the day before Trump’s inauguration. However, after taking office, the president extended it first until April 5, and then for another 75 days.
