Trump calls for elections in Ukraine

It’s time to hold presidential elections in Ukraine, and the country’s residents should have the right to freely elect the head of state.
This was stated by the American leader Donald Trump, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports with reference to Politico
“Yes, I think it’s time. I think it’s an important time to hold elections. They are using the war to avoid holding elections, but I think the Ukrainian people… should have this choice. And maybe Zelenskiy would win.”
Trump also added that the situation in Ukraine is now “getting to the point where it’s not a democracy anymore.”
Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s term as president of Ukraine expired on May 20, 2024. The election of a new president in Ukraine was not held due to the martial law declared in the country.
