Trump made a statement about the timing of the completion of the operation against Iran

US President Donald Trump has revealed details of an operation against Iran that could last up to four weeks, according to the Daily Mail, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

“We assumed it would last about four weeks. It has always been a four-week process, so despite all its power, it is a large country, it will take four weeks or less,” Trump said in a telephone interview with the Daily Mail from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

He said he was not surprised by any of the results of the strikes so far.

“No, I think it’s going according to plan. You know, besides the fact that we’ve destroyed all of their leadership — much more than we thought. It looks like 48 people,” he said.

Trump said he spoke on Sunday with the leaders of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, and “a few others.”

Responding to news that Saudi Arabia may launch attacks on Iran after initially being targeted, the president said, “They are fighting, they are fighting too.”

“Yes. It will be very interesting to watch, but a lot can happen, and a lot of very positive things,” Trump said.

Israeli and US military operation against Iran

On February 28, Israel attacked the Iranian capital, Tehran. Subsequently, US President Donald Trump said that the US military had launched a “major combat operation” against Iran with the aim of “eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime.” He accused the Iranian authorities of “financing and training” militants in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Hamas in Palestine. According to him, the goal of the military operation is to “destroy Iran’s missile industry and fleet” and “ensure that it cannot destabilize the world.”

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had launched missiles and drones toward Israel and attacked US military bases in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Against the backdrop of the US military operation against Iran, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Paris is calling for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council.

The European Union said it reaffirms its “unwavering commitment to regional security and stability” in the Middle East.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said it was fair to give Iranians a chance to get rid of the “terrorist regime and guarantee the safety of all nations that have suffered from attacks from Iran.”

On February 28, Trump wrote that Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei was dead. This information was later confirmed by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

On March 1, the IRGC announced that it was launching “the most destructive offensive operation in the history of the Islamic Republic” against Israel and “American terrorist bases.” Trump called on the Iranian regime to abandon these plans and threatened to respond with a “very strong strike.”
