US President Donald Trump is to be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his “peace efforts” in the Middle East. This is reported by The Hill, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs
“Today I am nominating Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. No one deserves it more,” wrote U.S. House of Representatives member Darrell Issa in a tweet.
In his post, he did not specify why he was nominating Donald Trump. However, in a subsequent statement, Issa’s spokesman pointed to the American leader’s peace efforts in the Middle East.
“Since his election and since taking the oath of office, President Trump has inspired and advanced the cause of peace – and in a way we haven’t heard in years. His support is a commitment to a world without war, and we see that today in several regions of the world, not just one,” he said.
Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize many times before, but he has never received the award.
The day before, Branko Grims, a member of the European Parliament and the Slovenian Democratic Party, nominated the American billionaire and head of the US government’s Department of Performance Elon Musk for the Nobel Peace Prize for his “consistent support of fundamental human rights and freedom of speech.”
