Russian pipeline monopoly Transneft has stopped pumping oil to the port of Novorossiysk, which also suspended operations after a drone attack on Friday night, two sources familiar with the situation told Reuters, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“Transneft declined to comment.

An oil depot and shore facilities at the Sheskharis oil transshipment complex in Novorossiysk, Black Sea, were damaged by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack on the night of November 14, the Krasnodar Territory’s operational headquarters reported.

According to media sources, the damage affected berths 1 and 1a in particular, which can accommodate tankers of 140,000 tons and 40,000 tons respectively.

The suspension of shipments has created a threat of overstocking the Sheskharis tank farm, forcing Transneft to limit pumping to the terminal, which receives resources of Russian crude and transit from Kazakhstan, the media source said.

On Friday morning, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan announced the continuation of the transportation of Kazakh oil towards the port of Novorossiysk.

“As of the current hour, the reception and transportation of Kazakh oil by the Atyrau-Samara and Aktau-Makhachkala systems are carried out in a normal mode, without restrictions,” the press service of the ministry said in a statement.

Kazakhstan exports oil towards the port of Novorossiysk via the Atyrau-Samara pipeline (the plan for November is 430,000 tons, according to the source) and via the Aktau-Makhachkala-Novorossiysk port route (170,000 tons in November).

According to industry sources, 1.794 million tons of oil products were shipped for export through the terminals of the port of Novorossiysk in October, and 16.783 million tons in January-October 2025.

Export transshipment of oil through Novorossiysk in October amounted to 3.22 million tons, and 24.716 million tons in the first 10 months of 2025.

In 2025, the operation of Russian oil infrastructure facilities was repeatedly disrupted by attacks by UAVs and unmanned boats. Baltic and Black Sea ports, Transneft’s main oil pipelines, and refineries were targeted.
