The cost of attacks on the power grid: Svyrydenko reveals budget losses

Power supply restrictions caused by Russian shelling of energy infrastructure have led to a decline in business activity and a reduction in revenues to Ukraine’s state budget.

According to "Komersant Ukrainian", this was reported by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko during a conversation with journalists.

Decrease in tax and customs revenues

According to the prime minister, tax and customs revenues fell by approximately 12 billion hryvnia in January. This is due to a decline in economic activity among businesses forced to operate under conditions of limited energy supply.

“We are seeing a decrease in revenues of minus 12 billion hryvnia. This is due to a decline in business activity and changes in the work of enterprises due to energy supply restrictions,” Svyrydenko said.

Implementation of the Ukraine Facility program

The prime minister also stressed that the further implementation of the Ukraine Facility program largely depends on the work of parliament, as some of the necessary laws have not yet been passed. At the same time, according to her, the government has fulfilled all the obligations stipulated by the program.

Earlier, Svyrydenko reported that the International Monetary Fund had decided to cancel the preconditions for Ukraine’s new $8.1 billion loan program. In particular, these include requirements regarding VAT for sole proprietors, customs duties on parcels, taxes on internet platforms, and military levies.
