Prices for potatoes and oil will soar: experts advise to stock up

Prices for potatoes and sunflower oil in Ukraine in the fall of 2025 will remain higher than consumers expected.

Potato prices in Ukraine in the fall of 2025 will remain higher than consumers expected. According to Taras Bashtannik, president of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association, there will be no potatoes for 5 hryvnias, but for 10.
Experts predict that by the end of September, the price will stabilize at 9-11 UAH/kg, depending on the quality and region.
On the food market, sunflower oil, one of the key products in the consumer basket, may rise to 100 UAH per liter in the near future. Experts attribute this to several factors, both internal and external. Processors are already warning of possible adjustments to pricing strategies in October-November, when the bulk of the new harvest will enter the market.
According to traders, if the current dynamics continues, the retail price of sunflower oil may reach 95-100 UAH/litre, especially in the segment of premium brands and packaged products. This will be the highest level since the beginning of 2022.
