Producer prices soared: industrial inflation in Ukraine accelerated to 7.3%

24 September 2025 11:17

In August 2025, the growth in industrial producer prices accelerated to 7.3% year-on-year, while a month earlier it was 4.7%.

This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the published data of the State Statistics Service.

The cost of industrial products showed strong growth from 2024 to March 2025, when prices rose by almost 52% year-on-year, then the rate of increase began to fall to 4.7% in July, but in August industrial inflation began to accelerate again.

On a monthly basis, i.e. in August compared to July, the producer price index increased by 4.7% after rising by 0.7% a month earlier. This is the largest increase in the last year. While prices even declined in April and May, they have been growing again since June.

The main factor behind the price increase in August was the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning: 9.4% by July 2025.

Overall, the dynamics indicate a return of inflationary pressure in the industry.

As a reminder, overall inflation in Ukraine has been slowing for the third month in a row. This is happening somewhat faster than expected. In August 2025, inflation slowed to 13.2% year-on-year. Month-on-month, prices fell by 0.2%.

The NBU expects this trend to continue in the coming months.
