Prices are rising: in February, inflation in Ukraine was 1% per month

Inflation in Ukraine in February 2026 was 1% on a monthly basis and 7.6% on an annual basis. This was reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
At the same time, core inflation, which excludes the most volatile goods, was 0.7% in February compared to January and 7% on an annual basis.
For comparison, in January, inflation was 0.7% for the month and 7.4% on an annual basis.
What rose in price the most
Food and non-alcoholic beverages contributed the most to price growth in February, rising 1.4%.
Among them, the prices for the following items rose the most:
- vegetables — by 13%;
- fruit;
- eggs;
- grain products;
- fish and fish products;
- bread and pasta;
- sunflower oil;
- milk and beef.
In annual terms, the following products saw the highest price increases:
- eggs — by 32.4%;
- fruit — by 21.9%;
- alcoholic beverages and tobacco products — by 16.6%.
Which products became cheaper
At the same time, some food products became cheaper in February.
In particular, prices fell for:
- poultry;
- pork;
- sugar;
- butter;
- lard;
- fermented milk products and cheese.
Prices fell by between 0.3% and 4.1%, depending on the category.
Clothing is getting cheaper, transport is getting more expensive
Among non-food products, clothing and footwear fell in price by 2.7%.
At the same time, prices in the transport sector rose by 1.4%, mainly due to a 3.3% increase in the cost of fuel and lubricants.
At the same time, passenger rail transport became 2.2% cheaper.
Mobile communications have become significantly more expensive
The largest price increase among services was recorded in the communications sector.
Prices in this category rose by 5.2%, primarily due to a 9.1% increase in mobile communication tariffs.
