Sugar pause: only two factories in Vinnytsia region are operating due to lack of raw materials

The sugar industry in Vinnytsia region is going through a difficult period: only two sugar factories are currently operating. According to the regional military administration, the key problem is the lack of raw materials. This was reported by Ukrinform, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
What is the reason?
One of the factories has already completed the production season, while two others have been forced to suspend operations and are now accumulating sugar raw materials to be able to resume production. Earlier, the UOA noted that unfavorable weather conditions also affected the supply of beets to the plants.
What has been done
Since the beginning of the season, sugar factories in the region have processed 1.92 million tons of sugar beet. About 273 thousand tons of sugar were produced from this raw material.
Traditionally, Vinnytsia region is one of the key sugar producing regions in Ukraine. According to the UGA, farmers have already completed harvesting and harvested about 2 million tons of sugar beet. At the same time, the amount of raw materials was not enough for all factories to operate stably during the season.
Further operation of the companies will depend on whether the factories can quickly accumulate the necessary stocks of raw materials to restart and how stable the production conditions will be in the near future.
