TCCs issue fines despite updating data in “Reserve”: MP gives details

1 August 2024 12:29

There have been cases when the military registration and enlistment offices fine conscripts who have updated their military registration data through the Reserve app in time but went to recruitment centres later. This was reported in Telegram by Oleksandr Fediyenko, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Digital Transformation, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The MP stressed that he had been approached by citizens who said that after registering in the Reserve app on time, they received a message that they needed to contact the CMC to clarify their data.

“The person liable for military service was not registered with the CCC, but after he contacted the CCC to clarify his data, having been updated through the reserve, he received a fine of UAH 17,000,” Fediyenko said.

In the second case, the man lost his military ID card, and when he came to update his data, after he had already done so through the Reserve, he also received a fine of UAH 17,000 – due to the loss of his military ID card.

The third case is similar to the second, but in this case, the person liable for military service had a police certificate stating that his documents had been stolen along with his military ID. This citizen was also fined.

“I went with a lawyer, and he helped me to draw up the right documents. The fine was not 17 thousand, but 5100,” the man said.

The MP acknowledged that all these fines were imposed in accordance with the current legislation.

“Although I honestly do not understand, in the first case, I am sure that a warning could have been issued,” the MP said.

It should be noted that 16 July was the last day for updating military records. All men and women liable for military service aged 18 to 60 had to do so. Kommersant Ukrayinsky Komersant.Info looked into what to do for those who failed to do so for some reason and what fines violators could face.

Starting from 00:00 on 17 July, border guards will check the availability of a military registration document for all Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 when leaving Ukraine.
