“Your blood saves”: veteran and volunteer Taras “Kolobok” Tseliukh dies in hospital

A soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a veteran and a civic activist Taras Tseliukh, known by his call sign “Kolobok”, died in hospital from wounds received at the front. His death was announced on Sunday, December 14, by the Karpaty Lviv football club, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

Who was he?

Taras Tseliukh was a participant of the Revolution of Dignity, an ATO veteran and a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was well known in the veteran and volunteer community as the founder of the “Your Blood Saves” donor initiative, which united veterans and civilians to help wounded soldiers and hospitals.

Community response

The Karpaty football club emphasized that a loyal fan of the Lviv team had passed away. In a post, the club said that “the heart of Taras Tseliukh, a fan of Karpaty, has stopped beating.”

What is known about the circumstances of the death

According to official information, Taras Tseliukh died in hospital as a result of injuries sustained during the fighting. Details of his injury and treatment have not been disclosed.

The initiative “Your Blood Saves”, launched by Taras Tseliukh, has become an example of self-organization of veterans and citizens in supporting the army and healthcare system during the war. His death was another loss for the veteran and volunteer community.
