Naftogaz launched 36 gas wells in 2024

NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine has launched 36 new gas wells in the first 5 months of 2024. This was reported by the company’s press service, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

The peculiarity of the new wells is that 11 of them are high-rate wells – their capacity exceeds 100 thousand cubic metres of gas per day.

Thanks to the commissioning of new facilities, Naftogaz managed to increase natural gas production by 10% compared to the same period in 2023.

Increasing domestic gas production is strategically important for improving Ukraine’s energy security and reducing dependence on imports. As reported , Ukraine has gone through the winter on its own gas for the first time.

Earlier, Naftogaz announced the gas tariff for the year.
