Eight regions of Ukraine are without power due to shelling: statement from the Ministry of Energy
7 April 11:10
As a result of hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure facilities in Ukraine on April 7, some consumers in eight regions are temporarily without power. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
What happened
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported that on April 7, due to the consequences of hostilities and shelling of energy facilities, consumers in several regions were partially left without electricity.
These are temporary power outages caused by damage to infrastructure. Energy workers are working around the clock to restore power to customers as quickly as possible.
Which regions are without power due to shelling
According to the Ministry of Energy, due to hostilities and attacks on energy facilities, power supply issues have been reported in the following regions:
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Donetsk
- Zaporizhzhia
- Odesa
- Sumy
- Kharkiv
- Kherson
- Chernihiv
It is in these regions that some consumers are temporarily without power.
Where else are power outages occurring due to bad weather
In addition to the effects of shelling, the situation in the power grid has also been affected by bad weather. Due to weather conditions, more than 170 settlements in nine regions of Ukraine have been left without power.
These are:
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Zhytomyr
- Kyiv
- Kirovohrad
- Mykolaiv
- Odesa
- Ternopil
- Poltava
- Khmelnytskyi regions.
In these regions, repair crews from the regional power companies are also carrying out restoration work.
Will there be power outage schedules on April 7
The Ministry of Energy specifically noted that hourly power outage schedules for residential customers are not expected in any region of Ukraine on April 7.
This means that, as of now, no planned restrictions are expected for residential consumers. At the same time, the situation in the power grid may change, so Ukrainians are advised to follow updates on the official websites of their regional power companies.
Where to check information about power outages
For up-to-date information on the status of power supply, emergency repairs, and possible changes, please check:
- on the official websites of regional power companies

- in announcements from local authorities
- on the official resources of the Ministry of Energy
These sources are the first to publish information about emergency and restoration work.
What energy companies are doing
The ministry notes that repair and emergency crews are working around the clock. Their task is to restore power as quickly as possible to all customers who have lost power due to attacks or severe weather.
At the same time, the pace of restoration in frontline and shelled areas depends not only on technical capabilities but also on the security situation.

Why Ukrainians Are Being Urged to Conserve Electricity
Despite the absence of scheduled power outages, the Ministry of Energy urges consumers to use electricity sparingly, especially during peak hours—in the morning and evening.
This is necessary in order to:
- reduce the load on the power grid
- help ensure stable grid operation
- facilitate system balancing amid the war and damaged infrastructure
What this means for consumers
For residential consumers, the current situation means that widespread planned outages are not expected for now, but localized emergency power outages are possible in certain regions due to the effects of shelling or severe weather.
Therefore, the main thing right now is to monitor announcements from local power companies and, if possible, reduce electricity consumption during peak hours.
