Ukrainian flags should be gradually removed from the buildings of state institutions in the Czech Republic. Karel Havlicek, the first deputy chairman of the ANO movement, said this on CNN Prima NEWS.
The politician is running for the post of head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the emerging government. During the interview, Havlicek was asked whether he would remove the Ukrainian flag from the building of his future workplace.
He said that this would happen, but not on the first day after his appointment to the ministry.
According to Havlíček, hanging Ukrainian flags after February 2022 was an expression of Czech solidarity with Ukraine. Now, he believes, this gesture is losing its effect.
The politician claims that this gesture will not be associated with a change in Czech foreign policy. He offered to support Ukraine with activities that will be outlined in the agreements.
on November 7, Czech Parliament Speaker Tomío Okamura ordered the removal of the Ukrainian flag, which had been hanging on the building for three years. He explained that the Czech Republic should come first.
