4 October 17:00

Voting in the elections to the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of parliament, has ended in the Czech Republic, and the vote counting process has begun. This was reported by the ČTK news agency, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to journalists, the two-day elections were characterized by high voter participation. The first data indicate that the turnout exceeded 50%, and some polling stations showed rates above 60% by 11:00 (12:00 Kyiv time).

Preliminary election results are expected in the evening of October 4. Official confirmation of the results by the State Election Commission is scheduled for October 6, according to the agency.

Opinion polls showed that the opposition movement “Action of Dissatisfied Citizens” (ANO), headed by former Prime Minister and billionaire Andriy Babish, is the favorite. According to The Guardian, the EU fears a possible victory of ANO, as it intends to cut aid to Ukraine and move away from the pro-European course.
