How the shopping mall market is changing
According to industry data, since the start of the full-scale war, 37 shopping centers in Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed, 23 of which occurred in the first months of the invasion. This represents approximately 10% of all shopping centers in the country.
At the same time, developers are gradually resuming construction. New projects are increasingly concentrated in the relatively safer western regions of Ukraine.
For example, at least five new shopping centers were planned to open in Ukraine in 2025, with another seven facilities scheduled for 2026–2027.
Other projects include the expansion of the “Podolyany” shopping center complex in Ternopil, where the construction of a second phase featuring a radiation shelter with an area of approximately 3,000 m² has been announced.
