The Orion crew is facing a problem with liquid waste disposal

The astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft, which is flying to the Moon as part of the Artemis II mission, have encountered a problem with the disposal of liquid waste. Ice has formed in the drainage pipe, mission manager Judd Friling told reporters, according to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing DW.
Specialists from the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) decided to reorient the spacecraft so that the drain line faced the sun, thereby melting the ice that had formed. This measure apparently allowed for the removal of some of the accumulated liquid waste by releasing it into the vacuum of space, notes the American television network CNN. The crew has been advised to use the toilet only for solid waste and to use special containers for collecting liquid waste.
The Orion spacecraft was launched on April 1 from the U.S. East Coast. On board are NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Cook, as well as Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen. The crew is scheduled to orbit our planet’s natural satellite for 10 days and return to Earth. By the morning of April 4, the spacecraft had already traveled more than halfway to the Moon.
