In February, 1,074 electric vehicles were added to Ukraine’s vehicle fleet, with the highest number of registrations recorded in Lviv Oblast, Volyn, and Kyiv.
This was reported by [Komersant] citing “Ukravtoprom.”
The vast majority of registered electric cars were used vehicles imported from abroad.
The highest number of electric vehicles in February was registered in Lviv Oblast—153 cars, 93% of which were used. Volyn Oblast took second place with 97 vehicles, where the share of used cars reached 99%. In the city of Kyiv, 93 electric vehicles were registered, 74% of which were used.
The top five also included the Kyiv region with 89 registered electric vehicles, 83% of which were used, and the Rivne region with 75 registrations, 93% of which were used vehicles.
Among new electric vehicles in regional markets, various models were in the highest demand. In Lviv Oblast, the top spot was shared by the BYD Sea Lion 06, Zeekr 001, and Honda eNP2. In Volyn Oblast, the Škoda Enyaq took the lead. In Kyiv, the most popular new electric cars were the BYD Leopard 3 and Honda eNP2.
In the Kyiv region, the Volkswagen ID.UNYX and Zeekr 001 were registered most frequently, while in the Rivne region, the BYD Yuan Up took the lead.
In the segment of used electric vehicles imported from abroad, the most popular models were the Tesla Model 3 in the Lviv and Kyiv regions, the Tesla Model Y in Kyiv, and the Nissan Leaf in Volyn and the Rivne region.
Thus, regional EV markets in Ukraine continue to be shaped primarily by imports of used cars, although demand for new models is also gradually growing.
It should be noted that at the beginning of 2026, the share of electric vehicles in Ukraine’s new car market plummeted—from nearly 50% in December 2025 to just 3% in February. This was the result of several factors. At the same time, the war in the Middle East, which caused a sharp rise in global oil prices, has already led to a doubling of Ukrainians’ interest in electric vehicles.
