First underground school built in Kharkiv

Kharkiv has completed the construction of its first underground school, which will start enrolling students by the end of this academic year. This was announced on the social network X by Mayor Igor Terekhov, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports.

According to him, the school building is built to the highest safety standards, has 20 classrooms and is designed to accommodate 900 students in two shifts.

The mayor said that enrolment for the next school year is almost complete. And already this academic year, 600 children will sit down at their desks.

The school is currently completing the last preparations before the start of classes.

Terekhov added that similar schools are planned to be built in different districts of the city.

“We plan to continue building such schools in other districts of the city to ensure that all our children have equal access to quality and, most importantly, safe education,”

– said the mayor of Kharkiv.
