In Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, a drone attack caused a fire at an oil depot

Drones struck an oil depot in the suburbs of Tikhoretsk in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai on the night of Saturday, March 15. The attack sparked a fire at the oil depot. According to the region’s emergency response headquarters, the fire was caused by “falling debris from the UAVs.”

The agency also reported that the drones damaged two high-voltage power lines. According to the operational headquarters, by 2:35 p.m. local time, all three fire pockets at the depot had been extinguished. Twenty fire crews, personnel from fire and rescue units, and specialists from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Krasnodar Krai Directorate were involved in the firefighting efforts.
On March 12, an oil depot in the Tikhoretsky District also caught fire following a drone attack. The regional operational headquarters did not specify whether it was a repeat attack or two separate incidents.
Belgorod authorities reported rocket fire; the city is experiencing power, heat, and water outages
As a reminder, Belgorod and the Belgorod region came under massive rocket fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the night of March 15, according to the region’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov. “Serious damage has been inflicted on energy infrastructure facilities. As a result, disruptions in electricity, water, and heat supply have been reported,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the Belgorod-based publication “Popil,” the strike specifically hit a power substation on Sumskaya Street in Belgorod. According to local authorities, five apartments in two apartment buildings, a private house, a public facility, and 11 cars were also damaged in the city. According to preliminary information, no one was injured.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported intercepting 170 Ukrainian UAVs on the night of March 15 over the territories of the Tver, Bryansk, Kaluga, Belgorod, Kursk, Smolensk, Tula, Rostov, Volgograd, and Saratov regions, the Krasnodar Krai, and the Republic of Adygea, as well as over the region. It is claimed that at least 20 drones were heading toward Moscow.
