A meeting between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and U.S. Special Representative Steven Vitkoff will take place in Moscow in the afternoon of December 2.
This was announced by the dictator’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Peskov said that on December 1, Putin “will have several non-public meetings in preparation for Russian-American contacts.” He also did not rule out the possibility that a joint statement could be made following the talks.
US contacts with Ukraine
The day before, Vitkoff, who has met with Putin several times this year, participated in a meeting of the US delegation with representatives of Ukraine in Florida. The parties discussed various aspects of the US peace plan. The participants called the talks constructive and noted progress, but no specific agreements were reached.
After the meeting, Steven Witkoff confirmed that he would travel to Russia on December 1 to continue discussing the peace initiative.
Earlier it was reported that the US president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, who also participated in the talks with Ukraine in Florida, would travel to Russia with Vitkoff. Dmitry Peskov did not mention Kushner’s visit in his statements.
