Russian dictator Vladimir Putin remains interested and open to bringing the war in Ukraine to a peaceful resolution.

This was stated by Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing Russian media.

“And Putin, just like [US President Donald] Trump, maintains his interest and openness to bringing the entire Ukrainian history into the mainstream of a peaceful settlement,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

He added that Moscow will continue to work to “find an opportunity” for a peaceful settlement of the war with Kyiv.

on September 19, the US Permanent Representative to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, said that the US leader was not going to impose the terms of a future peace agreement on Russia and Ukraine. According to him, a peace agreement is possible only if it is accepted by all parties to the conflict.

According to Whitaker, Washington continues to look for opportunities for mediation. At the same time, the United States plans to use leverage to force Russia and Ukraine to the negotiating table.
