President of the local sambo federation Yevhen Ponyrko shot dead in Kryvyi Rih

Police in Kryvyi Rih are investigating a murder in the Pokrovsky district. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the police of Dnipropetrovska oblast on Facebook.
According to preliminary reports, an unknown person opened fire on a local resident who died on the spot from his wounds.
According to Suspilne‘s sources, the deceased is the president of the local sambo federation, Yevhen Ponyrko. The information is confirmed on the page of the Dnipropetrovs’k police.
The police received the report on September 26 at about 20:00. An investigative team, experts, the management of the Kryvyi Rih police department and other specialized services are working at the scene. Priority investigative actions are being taken to identify the attacker.
The police clarified that another person was injured. The issue of legal qualification of the incident and its registration in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations is also being resolved.
Later it became known that investigators had opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Clause 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
A special police operation is being conducted in the region to find and detain the shooter.
