As of the morning of January 11, more than a thousand buildings in Kyiv remain without heat after a massive attack by Russia. Restoration work is ongoing.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a Telegram post by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

“More than a thousand buildings in the capital remain without heat. Heat supply has been restored to the rest. Water supply, which had been interrupted in some areas, has been restored to all residents,” Klitschko said.

He recalled that as a result of damage to the city’s infrastructure after the latest massive enemy attack, 6,000 high-rise buildings were left without heat.

The mayor noted that restoration work is ongoing. Utility and energy workers are working around the clock, but the energy supply situation in the capital remains very difficult.

“Electricity is essential for the operation of heating companies and water supply. According to forecasts, severe frosts will continue in the coming days. Therefore, the difficult situation in the capital will continue. Utility workers and all city services are doing everything possible to provide residents with the necessary services,” Klitschko added.

According to Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, about 85% of high-rise buildings in Kyiv that were left without heating now have heat. All city boiler rooms are operational.

Specialists are restarting the systems and venting the networks so that heat is distributed evenly to apartments.
