A pipeline burst in the centre of Kyiv near the Ocean Plaza shopping centre this afternoon. As a result, an entire street was flooded, causing traffic jams. Photos and videos are published by the capital’s Telegram channels, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

It is also reported that water has flowed into the underground passage where the entrance to the Lybidska metro station is located, but the metro is working.

The Kyiv City Administration reported that there was damage to the heating network on Antonovycha Street, which has now been localised.

“Damage to the 800 mm diameter network occurred during hydraulic testing. Heat and power companies have started this work to identify “thin” spots on the pipelines and to carry out timely repairs for enhanced work in winter,”

– the KCSA said.

Traffic on the street is now blocked, and a collapse has occurred on the carriageway.

Eyewitnesses report that the road in the area of the burst heating main near Ocean Plaza continues to collapse.

Kyivpastrans said that due to the pipeline break, the movement of buses on routes 2-M, 38-D, 27, 52, 60 and trolleybuses 1, 12, 42, 43-K, 42-D is delayed.

The buses will run with the following changes: Lybidska metro station – John McCain Street – Akademika Filatova Street – Mykola Mikhnovskoho Blvd. Mykola Mikhnovskoho Str. and then on their own routes.

Trolleybus traffic is organised:

  • no. 43 – from the Cybernetic Centre to Darnytska Square without stopping at Lybidska;
  • no. 43-K – from the Cybernetic Centre to the Demiivska metro station;
  • no. 1 – from Halyna Sevruk Street to Demiivska Square;
