Truck traffic restricted in Kyiv due to heat wave until the end of the month

From 27 June to 1 July, from 10:00 to 22:00, the movement of heavy vehicles in the capital was restricted due to the heat wave. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Kyivavtodor.
According to the forecast of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, the air temperature is expected to rise above 28 degrees these days.
Therefore, in order to preserve the road surface on the streets and roads of the city during this period, traffic will be restricted for vehicles weighing more than 24 tonnes and with an axle load of more than 7 tonnes.
“Operational control over the observance of traffic restrictions on the street and road network of the capital by drivers of heavy vehicles will be carried out by the Patrol Police Department in Kyiv,”
– the statement said.

Kyivavtodor reminded that such changes are being introduced in accordance with the order of the Kyiv City State Administration dated 7 July 2012 No. 1173 “On Restriction of Heavy Vehicle Traffic on the Streets and Roads of Kyiv due to the Increase in Air Temperature”.
