A Ukrainian-Georgian gang of “home invaders” whose members posed as members of the International Legion was detained in Kyiv. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
“Under the procedural guidance of the Pechersk District Prosecutor’s Office, six people, including citizens of Ukraine and Georgia, who were engaged in burglaries (Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), were notified of suspicion,” the report says.
Members of the group chose apartments of wealthy people in the center of the capital, monitored the house for a long time, and then, when no one was home, deactivated the alarm and opened the door.
The criminals even installed their own video surveillance camera in the entrance of the house. Using this scheme, they robbed an apartment on Kruglouniversitetska Street, stealing expensive watches, jewelry and documents for a land plot.

To move around the city, the suspects used license plates belonging to other cars, pasted over the symbols of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, wore military uniforms and presented themselves as members of the International Legion when checking documents. At the same time, the group members had fake documents with fictitious personal data.
During the 19 searches, the law enforcement officers seized jewelry, more than two dozen mobile phones, bank cards, trackers, surveillance cameras, car license plates, and military uniforms.

Four members of the group were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. They were served with a notice of suspicion. Two other members of the group were served suspicion notices in absentia. They will be put on the wanted list.
The sanction of the charged article provides for a sentence of up to twelve years in prison with confiscation of property.
The prosecutor’s office noted that the group’s organizer had already been convicted of robberies in private homes. Two members of the group are on the international wanted list for burglaries in Germany, and another member is wanted for premeditated murder in Russia.
