An unknown person shoots a man at a petrol station in Kyiv

An unknown person approached a man at a petrol station on the capital’s Ring Road and shot him at point blank range. Then he calmly got into his car. This was reported in local Telegram channels and a video was published, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Law enforcement officers quickly detained the 41-year-old man near the crime scene.
According to the police, on 18 September at around 07:00, a conflict arose between two men at a petrol station – the attacker shot the man and fled the scene. The victim died of a gunshot wound.
“A special police operation was launched in the city and all police units were deployed to search for the attacker. As a result of the priority measures taken, Kyiv police special forces tracked down and detained the suspect. He was a local resident born in 1983,” the statement said.
The Kyiv prosecutor’s office said that the deceased was 65 years old. He was approaching his car Honda Accord, when a stranger with a weapon approached his car. After a short dialogue, he fired a fatal shot at point-blank range.
Then, taking the car keys, he got behind the wheel of the victim’s car and drove away. His motives are currently being established.
The investigative team of the district police department continues to work at the scene. Criminal proceedings over the incident have been initiated under Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – premeditated murder.
