To protect yourself from flu, SARS and COVID-19, doctors advise

  • wash your hands regularly under running water and soap or treat them with an antiseptic with an alcohol content of at least 60-70%. Teach children to wash their hands after walking, interacting with pets, going to the toilet, and before eating
  • avoid crowded places, maintain social distance in public places (shops, pharmacies, markets). If such visits are necessary, use personal protective equipment (disposable medical masks)
  • take daily walks in the fresh air, eat fresh fruits and vegetables
  • eat well and avoid overwork
  • regularly ventilate the room and do wet cleaning
  • stay at home and consult your family doctor if you have any signs of illness
  • when ill, use disposable paper napkins and towels to cover your face when sneezing and in case of a runny nose. Used napkins should be immediately thrown in the trash, as they can also become a source of infection.

Cases of coronavirus sub-variants have been confirmed in Ukraine: “Stratus and Nimbus. The characteristic symptom of Nimbus is an acute sore throat, while the characteristic symptom of Stratus is a hoarse voice and hoarseness. The rest of the symptoms for both sub-variants are the same as for other COVID-19 variants: runny nose, fever, cough, headache, fatigue, loss of smell or taste.
