Ukrzaliznytsia’s “magic express” to run in Kyiv and Lviv: date and time

Ukrzaliznytsia is launching the Magic Express, a retro steam-powered train in Kyiv. This is reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs.
“Gryffindor or Slytherin? We announce the most magical trips of the year! Ukrzaliznytsia is preparing Magical Express trains – fabulous retro steam-powered trains – for departure in Lviv and Kyiv. This year, passengers will plunge into the world of magic and depart from platform 9 ¾ to Christmas miracles and victory over evil,” the post reads.
A professional photographer will meet passengers on the platform and take free photos near the historic steam locomotive, and an entertainment program with animators and gifts has been prepared for the youngest passengers in the cars.
Christmas magic express trains in the capital will run twice a day from January 1 to January 5:
- on weekdays at 16:30 and 19:00;
- on weekends at 9:40 and 12:32.
- the train ride will last an hour and a half.
In Lviv, trains will depart three times a day from December 25 to 29:
on weekdays at 15:15, 18:00 and 20:02;- on weekends at 10:05, 12:18 and 14:15.

All trips will be free, and 80% of seats will be given to children from temporarily displaced families, children of defenders, railway workers, police officers, rescuers and other social categories.
Other passengers can also get on board the Magic Express for free by registering on the website here. Registration will last until 23:59 on December 29, and a ticket drawing will take place on December 30.
Passengers are advised to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before the departure, where memorable photos and an animation program will be waiting for them.
In the event of an air alert, Ukrzaliznytsia trains will run as scheduled, and events will be moved from the platforms to shelters.
