Kyiv has high levels of air pollution: people are asked to close windows and drink plenty of water
24 February 09:32
As of the morning of Monday, February 24, high levels of air pollution remain in Kyiv. According to the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), an increase in the concentration of suspended solids has been recorded in the air, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“The likely reason for the deterioration of the air condition is the accumulation of suspended solids (dust). And low windy weather with high atmospheric pressure does not help disperse impurities,” the KCSA said.
You can follow the state of the air and radiation background in real time at https://asm.kyivcity.gov.ua/ and in the Kyiv Digital application.
The radiation background in the entire city is normal.
Recommendations for Kyiv residents
Until the air situation improves, experts advise to follow safety measures:
- Refrain from airing the premises, especially in the morning.
- Limit outdoor activities, especially for people with respiratory problems.
- Drink more clean water to reduce the negative impact of toxic particles on the body.
- Use air purifiers or humidifiers to maintain a comfortable microclimate at home.
