10 dead in Kyiv: entrance of a building destroyed, people under rubble

A Russian missile attack has left 10 dead and 35 injured in Kyiv. A residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district was hit, destroying one entrance and damaging others, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“A residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district was hit. Entrances were damaged. One is destroyed,”

– said Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

According to him, residents are being evacuated.

Preliminary, about 17 apartments were destroyed. People are being searched for under the rubble.

Meanwhile, social media reports that children can be heard screaming under the rubble of a building in Kyiv.

Rescue operations continue in 8 out of 10 districts of Kyiv: Podilskyi, Desnianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Holosiivskyi, Dniprovskyi, Solomianskyi, Darnytskyi and Shevchenkivskyi.

Destruction and damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded in 7 districts of the capital:

  • in Shevchenkivskyi district, the Okhmadyt children’s hospital was damaged and is in ruins.
  • in Holosiivskyi district – a kindergarten and a residential building were damaged, cars are burning;
  • an office building was damaged in Solomiansky district;
  • in Dniprovsky district – debris in a residential building is burning;
  • a private house was damaged in Darnytskyi district;
  • in Sviatoshynskyi district, debris is burning near a residential building; a fire broke out in the premises of an enterprise;
  • a house caught fire in Desnianskyi district.

As reported, the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv was damaged. There are children under the rubble. The exact number of injured and dead in Okhmatdyt is currently unknown.

According to President Zelenskyy, during a massive missile attack today, Russia fired more than 40 missiles of various types, attacking Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk.

The enemy also hit Kryvyi Rih with missiles, according to preliminary data, killing 10 people, 31 wounded are already in hospital .
