Air is polluted in Kyiv again: it is better to close the windows

As of the morning of 3 October, the level of air pollution in Kyiv is high. The radiation background in the entire city is normal. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration.

An increase in the concentration of suspended particles (dust) has been recorded. The probable cause of the temporary deterioration in air quality is fires in the ecosystem of Kyiv region and cross-border impact.

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, dust from the Caspian lowland was expected to enter the Kyiv region.

To improve the air situation, it is recommended to

  • close windows;
  • limit your time outside;
  • drink plenty of water;
  • if you have an air purifier, turn it on to the maximum setting.

According to the data of stationary air monitoring stations on the Right Bank of Kyiv:

  • 28 Turivska St., the general air quality index is 80 (high level of pollution);
  • 20 Shchuseva Street – 92 (high level of pollution);
  • 64-G European Union Avenue – 82 (high level of pollution);
  • 97 – 86 Beresteysky Avenue (high level of pollution);
  • 22-Kitaivska Street, 77 (high level of pollution).

On the Left Bank of Kyiv:

  • 7/1 Kharkivske Shosse St. – overall air quality index – 88 (high level of pollution).
  • 26, Arkhitektora Verbytskoho St. – 85 (high level of pollution).
