A funicular crashes in Lisbon, killing at least 15 people

The Gloria funicular has derailed and crashed in Lisbon, Portugal. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Reuters.
The accident killed at least 15 people and injured 18. Five people were seriously injured
The authorities did not identify the victims or disclose their nationalities, but said that there were foreign nationals among the dead.

“This is a tragic day for our city. … Lisbon is in mourning, it’s a tragic, tragic incident,” said the mayor of the Portuguese capital, Carlos Moedas.

The Gloria line was opened in 1885. It connects the center of Lisbon near Restauradores Square with the Bairro Alto district, which is known for its vibrant nightlife.
According to the city council, the Gloria line carries about 3 million people annually.
