Fighting erupts in Libya: tanks on the streets of Tripoli

Fighting between Misrata and Tripoli forces has resumed in Libya after the assassination of commander Abdul Ghani al-Kikli (Geniwa). This is reported by Clash Report, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs

A shooting has been reported on the streets of Tripoli. A lot of military equipment has appeared on the streets.

The Libyan Foreign Ministry called on civilians in Tripoli to stay home.

It is noted that the shooting was heard in different parts of the capital. According to unconfirmed reports, the fighting is taking place between the forces of Misrata and Tripoli.

In addition, civilian aircraft have been reported to be evacuated from Mitiga airport due to fears of clashes between the warring parties.

“The Mitiga International Airport Authority announces the complete suspension of air traffic and the rerouting of flights arriving at Mitiga Airport,” Libya Today 24 reports.
