In the Kohistan Mountains in northern Pakistan, the body of a man who went missing 28 years ago in June 1997 was found in a melting glacier. This was reported by the BBC , "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The remains were discovered by a local shepherd. The body had clothes on it and an identity card with the name Nasiruddin. Police confirmed that this was the same man who disappeared during a snowstorm after falling into a glacier crevasse.

According to reports, Nasiruddin was traveling in the mountains with his brother Katiuruddin. They had run away from home after a family quarrel over honor that led to the murder of their younger brother Gardeizi. Both were afraid of persecution and hid in the mountains.

According to Katiuruddin, on the day of their disappearance, they were walking a dangerous route, trying to avoid conflict situations. When the shots were fired, Nasiruddin probably hid in an ice cave, but did not return. The search – by both his brother and local residents – was unsuccessful.

Now, 28 years later, the body was found thanks to the melting of the glacier.
