NABU conducts searches in Lutsk city council and Volyn regional council

Since the morning of December 19, searches have been conducted in the Lutsk City Council and Volyn Regional Council, and law enforcement officers are working on the spot.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Suspilne.

The information about the searches was also confirmed by phone by Oleksandr Olishevsky, deputy head of the information department of the Lutsk City Council. According to him, law enforcement officers have been in the building since the morning. He also added that the local government is operating as usual.

According to media reports, the searches in the city council are being conducted by officers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. In a telephone commentary, Margarita Zhyvaha, head of the media relations department of the NABU’s communications and external relations department, neither confirmed nor denied this information.

At the same time, law enforcement officers are also working in the building of the Volyn Regional Council, confirmed Vitaliy Maksymiak, the chief of staff of the Volyn Regional Council. NABU officers are in the building.

According to local media, on December 19, a deputy of the Volyn Regional Council was detained in connection with a case of receiving a bribe of USD 30,000.

There are no official comments from law enforcement agencies as of this hour.
