The Ministry of Defence has revealed the number of those who are fit for service among those who have updated their data

Among those people who updated their data on 18 May, when the new law on mobilisation came into force, one million and one hundred thousand people liable for military service are eligible for conscription. This was announced by the spokesman for the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant Dmytro Lazutkin, on the air of Army TV, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“This is important information, because there are many reservists, many who are eligible for deferment. That is, a million and a hundred thousand people can be mobilised and, accordingly, join the ranks of the Defence Forces,”

– Lazutkin said.

He added that about 2.3 million people liable for military service, conscripts and reservists have updated their data. Among them, 1.78 million have used the Reserve app.

“It is clear that in the coming days they will not be able to help those servicemen who are defending our country, but in the long run it is very important because it is about improving military records. The country needs to know who to count on for defence,”

– explained the Ministry of Defence spokesman.

It should be noted that the updated law on mobilisation came into force on 18 May. All men aged 18-60 have 60 days – until 16 July inclusive – to update their registration details.

The Ministry of Defence launched the mobile application “Reserve” for persons liable for military service, conscripts and reservists on 18 May, after the updated law on mobilisation came into force.

People can update their data at the Centre for Administrative Services, the Territorial Centre for Recruitment and Social Support and in their e-cabinet.
